Fragrances for our products are derived from essential oils. For our USDA Certified Organic products the essential oils are certified organic.  For the non-organic products we use only naturally derived fragrances. In some cases there may be a blend of essential oils used to create a proprietary fragrance formula.

SPRAY CLEANERS & SCRUBS

WHICH SURFACES CAN I USE THE SPRAY CLEANERS and SCRUBS ON?

We recommend our products for hard, sealed (non-porous) surfaces including granite, acrylic, ceramic, plastic, fiberglass showers, porcelain and stainless steel. If you are hesitant about spraying a particular surface, you can test a small, inconspicuous area first to see results. As with any cleaner be sure to fully wipe sprayed area thoroughly and allow to completely dry.  Our spray cleaners are NOT recommended on self-cleaning ovens as any cleaner could potentially cause damage to the equipment parts.

I AM TRYING TO CLEAN A GRIMY SURFACE THAT HAS NOT BEEN CLEANED IN A WHILE. HOW WILL YOUR PRODUCT PERFORM ON THIS SURFACE?

Our products are meant for everyday household use. Use our product by saturating the surface, let it set a few minutes, then wipe. Adding some elbow grease or scraping with a plastic spatula may be in order to remove tough grime.   For difficult to clean surfaces due to neglect, an industrial type of cleaner may be needed to break through the grime.  Then our products can be used on a continuous basis.

WHICH SURFACES CAN I USE THE GLASS CLEANER ON?

Our Glass Cleaner works well on glass and plastic windowsFor tinted windows, check with the tint manufacturer for recommended cleaning advice. Additionally, you should not use any cleaner on a hot window with tinted film. Only apply on cool windows and wipe off immediately.

HOW CAN I REMOVE MOLD FROM MY SURFACES USING YOUR PRODUCTS?

Mold in sinks and showers is not usually airborne as the water coats the mold and weighs it down.  If the mold is dried out and could potentially be dusty, thoroughly saturate the mold with our product and let stand for a few minutes.  Repeat this process a few times before scrubbing the mold off the surface.  Repeated soaking gives our active ingredient a chance to begin killing the layers of mold.

CAN I USE THE ALL-PURPOSE CLEANER ON KITCHEN EQUIPMENT THAT COMES IN CONTACT WITH FOOD?

Yes, however all parts should be wiped down or rinsed with water afterwards.

WHERE CAN I USE THE SPOT CLEANER AND PET STAIN & ODOR REMOVER?

We recommend using our SPOT CLEANER and PET STAIN & ODOR REMOVER on hard, sealed surfaces or carpets and color fast fabrics where dry cleaning is not recommended.  And as always whenever using a new cleaning product, always test a small inconspicuous area to ensure colorfastness and resistance to dulling.

LAUNDRY DETERGENTS

I DON’T SEE SUDS AND THE DETERGENT SEEMS THINNER THAN CONVENTIONAL BRANDS.  ARE MY CLOTHES REALLY GETTING CLEANED?

Our detergent is a low-to-no sudsing formula. Our formula does not have the synthetic foamers and thickeners that many others do.  Suds and viscosity do not affect the performance of the detergent. Suds can actually leave residue on clothing as well as washing machines.

I BOUGHT THE 200 oz LAUNDRY DETERGENT FROM COSTCO AND NEED HELP WITH THE CAP LINES AS THEY PERTAIN TO THE AMOUNTS OF DETERGENT TO USE.

See if the diagram below helps.

WE HAVE A NUT ALLERGY IN OUR HOUSEHOLD. CAN I STILL USE YOUR LAUNDRY DETERGENT?
Yes, you should not have a problem for two reasons. While it is made up of coconut-derived ingredients coconuts are not a true nut but actually a fruit. Also the oil is saponified, so the actual oil no longer remains in solution. Allergic reactions to coconut are extremely rare and are usually related to ingestion and not contact.

CAN GREENSHIELD ORGANIC DETERGENT BE USED ON … ?

WOOL - Most wool can be washed with our detergent but it is always best to check the manufacturer’s tag for recommended care.  If you are washing wool we suggest hand washing or using the delicate cycle.  Wash only in cold water and use half of the suggested detergent amount.

WIGS - Synthetic wigs should NOT be washed with our product as they are treated with a certain chemical to help hold the style of the wig. Our product can actually cause the wig to relax and not hold its style.

IS THIS DETERGENT SAFE FOR GREYWATER?

Greywater is wastewater generated from domestic activities such as laundry, dish washing, and bathing, which can be recycled on-site for uses such as landscape irrigation and constructed wetlands. Greywater differs from water from the toilets which is designated sewage or blackwater to indicate it contains human wastes.  When Greywater is used for irrigation, you should refer to your local codes and consider what contaminants are present from both the laundry detergent and the fabrics being washed. Our detergents contain USDA Certified Organic and NOP allowable ingredients and are therefore biodegradable by nature.  Due to the fact that the greywater is highly diluted it should not cause any issues with alkalinity of the soil, but it is recommended to watch over time to make sure repeated applications are not harming vegetation growth.  It is NOT recommended to use any greywater for vegetable gardens.
