Congrats, graduates! No doubt you are consumed with donning a cap and gown, taking pictures with supportive family members and fellow student sojourners, graduation parties, opening greeting cards filled with cash and checks and shopping around your resume to any place that will see it, if you haven’t landed your dream job already. You’ll listen to graduation speeches about how your life is just beginning and the future is in your hands. This 2005 graduation speech to Kenyon College by the late David Foster Wallace reminds us that each day we may be given a set of similarly mundane circumstances, but it’s our ability to choose the way we look at these circumstances which can make our lives extraordinary. Enjoy!
