After a long winter we welcome spring with open arms and open windows. Put aside those curtains and let the sunshine in! Brighter days call for more vibrant colors and lighter clothes. Banished are the cozy scents of cinnamon and pine, we need to fill our nostrils and hearts with something a bit more energetic. How about lemon? The spirited scent of lemon is so fresh and perfectly paired with a healthy dose of spring cleaning.
Lemon not only smells lovely, it can help to rid your home of other unpleasant odors you’d rather not exist. We’ve compiled a list of simple and effective ways to infuse this bright citrus fruit into the nooks and crannies of your home.
1. Lemon Air Spray.
Dissolve 1/8 cup baking soda into 2 cups hot water. Add ½ cup lemon juice. Pour into a spray bottle. Shake before spraying into every room of your home.
2. Garbage Disposal Cleansing Cubes.
Ever notice a foul odor emanating from your garbage disposal? Food build-up can happen from time to time, and it’s important to keep your garbage disposal clean. Chop the peels from three lemons into small pieces and spread out into an ice cube tray. Pour 1 1/2 cups of distilled white vinegar evenly into the tray, then put it in the freezer. Immediately after the cubes have frozen, remove them from the tray and store in the freezer in a plastic freezer bag. Put one cube down the garbage disposal as needed for a fresh, lemony scent.
3. Stovetop Scent Diffuser.
Bring 2-3 cups of water to boil. Add 3 sliced lemons, a few springs of rosemary and 1 tsp of vanilla. Simmer on low. Very soon your home will start to smell fresh and amazing.
Our all-in-one cleaner will remove the grease, grime, dirt and stuck-on debris on all of your hard surfaces without leaving any sticky residue. The Fresh Lemon scent will leave your home smelling as clean as it looks.
